Spirits of Mexico

Spirits-of-Mexico

Background

The IWSC Group is the world leader in wine and spirit competitions around the globe. It runs the International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC), which is considered to be the world’s premier competition of its kind and the Hong Kong International Wine and Spirit Competition. In 2011, the group acquired US consumer tasting event, the Spirits of Mexico, which is a week-long spirits festival based in San Diego.
The Spirits of Mexico is the oldest, largest and most comprehensive festival for agave and other Mexican spirits in the United States. As part of its rebranding exercise, the group wanted to design and create a new website to promote the event and reflect its international reputation.

The Challenge

Creating a fresh website that will promote the Spirits of Mexico events to prospective consumers, tequila and spirit makers and thereby help in higher sales of advertising/stand space. The website would also act as a key marketing and event promotion channel providing an online source of information and images. The new website design had to meet specific branding guidelines and ensure that it had its own identity and was also consistent with the group’s standards for competition websites.

Our Thinking and Approach

Our designers and developers focused on creating a vibrant, user friendly and well structured design for the website. The new design provides a distinctive brand identity whilst managing to keep consistency with competition website standards.
The informative homepage has quick links that make navigation easy for the visitors. Keeping the group’s requirements in mind, an efficient and easy-to-use registration form and payment page to register for the competition was created. The team also embedded flash banners displaying rich imagery sensitively-applied and included a number of calls to action such as “Join our mailing list” box which is easily visible.

Result

Working closely with IWSC Group, our team created a cost effective, distinctive and user-friendly website. The website builds a positive perception of the event and helps to increase the number of visitors, participants and exhibitors. The website is informative, systematic and organized which makes it quick and convenient for visitors and exhibitors to find the information they may be looking for.
